Every stylish racegoer knows about the Melbourne Cup races, whether they live in Australia or not. But the best thing about the races is not the horses, it is the hats and the fashion.

So I have been looking for a suitable hat pattern for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Most knittable hats are simply too … hum …. common. But I am looking for a pattern for a Melbourne Cup hat. It must be stylish and noticeable.

I call it serendipity. Just what I had been looking for. Great inspiration for hat I can knit for the races. Salma wore this hat at the Paris Fashion Week. So I thought, OK, let’s see if I can find some suitable patterns using Salma’s latest fashion statement.
